Joyce Riskedal Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on Interstate 80 near Marseilles, IL

Marseilles, IL — August 18, 2023, Joyce Riskedal was killed in a semi-truck collision on Interstate 80 in La Salle County, near Marseilles, IL.

Authorities indicate that on August 18, a fatal accident occurred between an SUV and a semi-truck on Interstate 80 in La Salle County. Investigators say the SUV allegedly hit a semi while entering a single lane. According to reports, the SUV and the vehicle collided, which caused a third car to get hit. Sources say the SUV flipped over numerous times before coming to a halt.

Officials confirmed the SUV driver, 54-year-old Joyce Riskedal, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. No other injuries were reported.

Authorities have not determined the cause of the accident but are continuing to investigate.
