Custer County, NE — August 18, 2023, one person was killed and two were injured following a commercial truck accident at around 8:30 a.m. on Highway 2.
Some information in local news outlets mention Lincoln, NE, however details suggest that the crash happened south of Anselmo at Highway 2 and County Road 812, which is about 200 miles west of Lincoln.

According to statements said to be from sheriff's officials, a Ford pickup truck was going westbound along Highway 2 at the time. Ahead, it appears a tractor-trailer flipped over and blocked highway lanes after it somehow crashed into a tractor "from behind." The Ford then crashed into the flipped tractor-trailer. It is unclear how much time passed between the two collisions.
As a result of the collision, the Ford driver was said to have succumbed to their injuries after transport to a Broken Bow hospital. The other two drivers involved were also taken to the hospital, though their injuries weren't specified. The factors surrounding the crash can't be confirmed pending further investigations.
