Kaori Kitta, Sherrod Segraves Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident on F.M. 2244 in Austin, TX

UPDATE (September 19, 2023): Authorities released details surrounding the crash, including the identities of the two victims fatally injured in the crash. According to officials, 55-year-old Kaori Kitta and 55-year-old Sherrod Segraves were in a Honda Insight going northbound along R.M. 2244. It appears a Toyota Prius going southbound somehow went into oncoming lanes, colliding into the Honda.

Kaori Kitta and Sherrod Segraves died as a result of the collision. The other driver reportedly had non-incapacitating injuries. Authorities have no confirmed additional details at this time.

Austin, TX — August 18, 2023, two people were killed and a third was injured following a car accident that happened around 9:23 p.m. on F.M. 2244.

According to information about the fatal crash released by Austin-Travis County EMS, the incident took place in the 7000 block of Farm-to-Market 2244 Road just off Bee Caves Road.

Investigators said that the incident involved at least two vehicles. The exact cause of the accident is not clear at this time. Authorities said that two people sustained fatal injuries due to the crash. Neither have been identified publicly. A third person involved apparently had critical injuries and was transported to South Austin Medical Center for treatment. No further information can be confirmed at this time.
