Jose Delao Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident in Odessa, TX

Odessa, TX — August 18, 2023, Jose Delao was killed and one person was injured after a car accident that happened along West 42nd Street.

Investigations said in their preliminary statements that the crash happened at the intersection of West 42nd Street and North Golder Avenue.

Authorities said in initial reports that 83-year-old Jose Delao was in a Nissan traveling northbound along Golder. At 42nd, it appears that the driver of another car ran the light at the intersection, crashing into the vehicle Delao was in.

This collision resulted in Delao sustaining injuries which proved to be fatal. One other person was reportedly taken to a hospital. Details about the driver who allegedly ran the light are unclear at this time. No charges have been reported pending further investigations.
