Driver Killed in Truck Accident on I-70 in Hancock County, IN

Hancock County, IN — August 19, 2023, a driver sustained fatal injuries as the result of a multi-truck accident at around 11:00 p.m. along Interstate 70.

Preliminary statements released by the Hancock County Sheriff's Department say that the crash took place along westbound lanes of I-70 near Mt. Comfort Road.

According to officials, traffic became congested along the interstate after a car came to a stop in the right lane due to a flat. While the traffic built, it appears a crash somehow occurred in which a semi-truck crashed into multiple other semis and a pickup.

One of the truck drivers involved sustained fatal injuries, authorities said. There were no other confirmed injuries resulting from the crash. No further information is available at this time.
