One Injured in Tractor-Trailer Accident in Carter County, TN

Carter County, TN — August 19, 2023, a person was injured in a tractor-trailer crash near Piney Flats Road in Carter County, Watauga, TN.

Authorities indicate that on August 19, a crash occurred when, for unknown reasons, a tractor-trailer overturned near a railroad in the area of Piney Flats Road. According to reports, the truck flipped into a roadside ditch near the train tracks. Sources say the train was able to come to a halt before reaching the truck.

Investigators have not determined the cause of the accident. Officials say the tractor-trailer driver suffered injuries, but the extent of the injuries is unknown. No other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved.
