One or More Injured in 18-Wheeler Accident on Interstate 85 in Durham, NC

Durham, NC — August 19, 2023, one or more people were injured in an 18-wheeler collision on Interstate 85 South near Exit 175 in Durham, NC.

Authorities indicate that on August 19, a collision involving two vehicles and an 18-wheeler occurred on Interstate 85 in Durham for unknown reasons. According to reports, the 18-wheeler was traveling southbound on I-85 when it suddenly left the roadway and overturned down an embankment. Two other vehicles were reportedly involved in the collision though the details are unclear. The crash occurred sometime after 2:30 in the morning.

Investigators have not determined what caused the accident. Officials confirmed severe injuries in the collision, but no additional information was released.

The investigation is ongoing.
