One Killed, Four Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 5 in Oceanside, CA

Oceanside, CA — August 9, 2023, one was killed, and four were injured in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 5, north of Route 78 in Oceanside, CA.

Authorities indicate that on August 9, a fatal accident occurred when, for unknown reasons, a Chevrolet struck a non-moving vehicle on the side of I-5. Sources say the crash forced the non-moving vehicle into the path of an oncoming semi, and the two collided.

Officials confirmed a passenger in the non-moving vehicle, whose name has not been released, was killed in the crash. Four other people in the vehicle reportedly suffered injuries and were taken to an area hospital for medical attention. According to reports, some of the injuries were severe.

Investigators suggest that alcohol intoxication may have been a factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
