One Killed, Two Injured in Multi-Vehicle Accident on Highway 51 in Coweta, OK

Coweta, OK — August 17, 2023, one was killed, and two were injured in a five-vehicle crash on Highway 51 between Oneta Road and South 257th East Avenue in Coweta, OK.

Authorities indicate that on August 17, a collision occurred when, for unknown reasons, five vehicles, including two pickup trucks, collided on Highway 51. According to reports, one of the pickups allegedly crossed into opposing traffic and collided head-on with an oncoming pickup. Sources say the collision caused a domino effect of crashes involving three other vehicles.

Officials confirmed the pickup driver, who allegedly entered opposing traffic, suffered fatal injuries. The driver's name has not been released at this time. Two other people were reportedly injured and taken to an area hospital. The extent of the injuries is unknown.

No additional information is currently available. The crash is under investigation.
