Caitlin Carpenter, Girl Injured in Alleged Drunk Driving Accident on I-35 in Round Rock, TX

UPDATE (September 5, 2023): According to recent information released about the accident, Caitlin Elizabeth Carpenter was the driver of the vehicle reportedly hit by the alleged drunk driver. She was said to have non-incapacitating injuries while her 6-year-old passenger had reportedly incapacitating injuries. Others involved in the crash who were hurt either had unspecified injuries or non-incapacitating injuries, according to officials. Further information about the allegedly drunk driver cannot be confirmed right now.

Round Rock, TX — August 6, 2023, a 6-year-old girl was injured due to an alleged drunk driver accident late Sunday along I-35.

Authorities with the Round Rock Police Department said they were called out to the northbound lanes of I-35 near Louis Henna Sunday evening.

Right now, details suggest that a 6-year-old girl was in a vehicle traveling along the interstate. In a series of events not entirely clear, it appears another vehicle slammed into that car. Authorities at this time allege that driver was under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred.

Following the wreck, the 6-year-old girl was taken to Dell Children's Hospital. Her injuries were described as serious, and it appears the child is still recovering from the incident. Her current condition is unclear. It's also unclear whether or not anyone else involved in the crash was hurt.
