David Wells Killed in Motorcycle, Truck Accident in Roanoke County, VA

Roanoke County, VA — August 17, 2023, David Wells was fatally injured due to a tractor-trailer accident Thursday afternoon along West Main Street.

Preliminary details about the crash were released by Roanoke County Police officials, who say that the crash happened at the intersection of West Main Street and Dow Hollow Road, just off Interstate 81.

According to current statements, 61-year-old David Wells was on a motorcycle traveling westbound along West Main Street. At the intersection of Dow Hollow, authorities say that a tractor-trailer made a left turn off of Dow Hollow onto Main. This led to Wells's motorcycle crashing into the back portion of the trailer.

Due to the collision, Wells sustained fatal injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries resulting from the collision. At this time, there is no mention of charges or citations. Authorities continue to investigate the factors surrounding the crash.
