Truck Driver Killed in Accident on County Road 78 in Lee County, FL

Lee County, FL — August 11, 2023, a truck driver was killed in a truck collision on County Road 78, west of Elmwood Drive in Lee County, FL.

Authorities say that on August 11, a fatal accident occurred when a semi-truck suddenly veered off County Road 78 and crashed into some roadside poles. The accident reportedly happened sometime in the morning in Lee County.

Few details are available as investigators determine the events that led to the collision. Officials confirmed that the semi-truck driver, a 64-year-old man whose name has not been released, suffered severe injuries and was transported to an area hospital. The truck driver reportedly succumbed to his injuries and did not survive.

No other injuries were reported. The collision remains under investigation.
