Woman Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on Route 12 in Volo, IL

Volo, IL — August 13, 2023, a woman was killed in a collision involving a semi-truck on Route 12 in Lake County, Volo, IL.

Authorities indicate that on August 13, a fatal accident occurred when a Chevrolet and a semi-truck collided on Route 12 in Lake County. Sources say the Chevrolet attempted a U-turn and collided with a northbound semi.

Officials confirmed the Chevrolet driver, an 84-year-old woman whose name has not been released, suffered severe injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. The woman reportedly succumbed to her injuries and died at the hospital. No other injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
