Hayden Smith Killed, 1 Injured in Car Accident in San Marcos, TX

San Marcos, TX — July 15, 2023, Hayden Smith was killed and one person was injured due to a single-vehicle accident at around 9:06 p.m. on Guadalupe Street.

According to preliminary information released by authorities, the incident happened at the intersection of South Guadalupe Street (Loop 82) and Grove Street.

Investigations indicated that 19-year-old Hayden Smith was a passenger in a GMC Sierra pickup that was said to be going southbound along Guadalupe Street. For reasons which cannot be confirmed at this time, the vehicle ran off the side of the road where it crashed with a pole.

Due to this collision, Smith sustained fatal injuries. Another occupant in the vehicle had injuries described as non-incapacitating. Right now, the cause of the crash cannot be confirmed. Authorities have not yet confirmed any additional details about the crash.
