One Injured in Truck Accident on Hwy. 55 in Valley County, ID

Valley County, ID — August 15, 2023, one person was injured when three vehicles collided around 3:30 p.m. on Highway 55 near Smiths Ferry in Valley County.

According to officials, a tractor-trailer, a pickup truck, and a passenger vehicle collided just south of a construction zone, close to the Cougar Mountain Lodge. The crash reportedly caused the semi-truck to partially hang over the Payette River.

The driver of the pickup truck was reportedly airlifted to a hospital. The severity of the driver's injuries was not reported.

Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident.
