Investigators said that the incident took place along Highway 35 at the intersection of County Road 192. Rocha reportedly stopped along the left turn lane of the highway at the C.R. 192 intersection.

While Rocha was waiting at the intersection, authorities said a northbound pickup pulling a trailer somehow drifted to the left. This led to the truck crashing head-on into Rocha's vehicle as it waited at the traffic light.

Due to the collision, Rocha sustained incapacitating injuries. The other driver reportedly had non-incapacitating injuries. Current information shows that authorities believe the pickup driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Charges were apparently recommended, but the current status of the investigations is unclear at this time.
