Fernando Moreno Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident in El Paso, TX

UPDATE (August 31, 2023): Details from authorities identified the man killed in the accident as 47-year-old Fernando Moreno. Right now, additional details about the crash itself cannot be confirmed.

El Paso, TX — August 16, 2023, one person was killed following a single-vehicle car accident just after midnight along U.S. Highway 54.

Preliminary details about the crash released by El Paso authorities say that the crash happened at approximately 12:57 a.m. in the area of U.S. 54 and Montana Avenue.

According to officials, a vehicle was traveling along the highway when, for reasons which are unclear at this time, the vehicle crashed. This led to the vehicle flipping over. It appears the crash resulted in both directions of traffic being impacted.

As a result of the rollover crash, the driver of the vehicle sustained apparently fatal injuries. Authorities have yet to publicly identify the victim. There were no other injuries reported, and it appears no one else was involved in the crash. Details such as tire blowouts, alcohol, distraction, mechanical issues, and other such possible factors remain under investigation at this time.
