Ontario Man, Otsego Man Injured in Truck Accident on I-96 in Ottawa County, MI

Ottawa County, MI — August 11, 2023, an Ontario man and an Otsego man were injured after a semi-truck accident at around 12:45 p.m. along I-96.

Details released by the Ottawa County Sheriff's Department show that the crash took place in the Coopersville and Polkton Township area near I-96 and 68th Avenue.

According to officials, a 57-year-old Ontario, Canada, driver was in a semi-truck going along the eastbound lanes of the interstate. Ahead, it appears there was another semi-truck driven by a 34-year-old Otsego, Michigan, man that had jackknifed for unspecified reasons. As the truck blocked travel lanes, the Ontario trucker's semi hit the Otsego man's.

As a result of the collision, both men were taken to area hospitals. Neither driver was said to have life threatening injuries, and details suggest the Otsego man was released shortly after the accident. No further information about the crash can be confirmed at this time.
