Oday Qabsees, Stephen Hudson, Brenda Hudson Killed in RV, Truck Accident on I-90 in Hartford, SD

UPDATE (August 21, 2023): Recent reports identified the victims killed in the accident. The occupants of the RV were identified as 58-year-old Stephen Hudson and 60-year-old Brenda Hudson. The driver of the truck was 32-year-old Oday Qabsees. No further information can be confirmed.

Hartford, SD — August 14, 2023, three people were killed as the result of an RV versus truck accident at around 4:16 p.m. along Interstate 90.

Authorities with the South Dakota Department of Public Safety say they were called out to the interstate roughly 13 miles west of Sioux Falls near Hartford.

According to officials, the incident happened as an RV was traveling along the eastbound lanes of the interstate. In westbound lanes, it appears that a Dodge Ram 3500 lost control, side-swiping multiple vehicles. The truck then went left of center where it hit the RV head-on. Both vehicles then caught fire.

As a result of the collision, the truck driver, the RV driver, and a passenger in the RV all sustained fatal injuries. The victims have not yet been publicly identified. Currently, the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
