Cody Wayne Satterfield Killed in Car Accident in Gaines County, TX

Gaines County, TX — August 10, 2023, Cody Wayne Satterfield was killed due to a car accident that happened at around 5:49 a.m. along Highway 214.

Details released by the Texas Department of Public Safety show that the crash happened just southeast of Denver City.

It appears that 37-year-old Cody Wayne Satterfield was on a motorcycle that was going northbound along the highway. From oncoming lanes, troopers say that a southbound Chevy Silverado failed to yield, crashing with Satterfield. This led to Satterfield falling into the roadway, following which a pickup behind Satterfield hit him a second time.

As a result of the collision, Satterfield sustained injuries which ultimately proved to be fatal. There were no other reported injuries following the crash. At this time, no further information can be confirmed. Investigations are ongoing.
