Irving Morales, Alexis Morales Killed, Luis Cortez, Fabio Cubillos Injured in Car Accident in Ector County, TX

Ector County, TX — August 11, 2023, Irving Morales and Alexis Morales were killed and Luis Cortez and Fabio Cubillos were injured in a car accident on F.M. 181.

Authorities with the Texas Department of Public Safety indicated that the incident happened at around 6:50 a.m. roughly 8 miles north of Goldsmith.

According to current statements, 31-year-old Irving Morales, 25-year-old Alexis Morales, and 41-year-old Luis Cortez were in a GMC Sierra that was going northbound along F.M. 181. It appears a southbound Chevy Silverado somehow went left of center, crashing into the Moraleses and Cortez's GMC.

As a result of the collision, both Irving Morales and Alexis Morales sustained fatal injuries. Cortez was said to have been released after treatment at a hospital. The driver of the Chevy, identified as 41-year-old Fabio Javier Cubillos, was also taken to a hospital. Right now, there are no additional details confirmed about factors leading up to the crash.
