Eduardo Lopez-Escarcega Killed in Truck Accident in Winkler County, TX

Winkler County, TX — August 13, 2023, Eduardo Lopez-Escarcega was killed following a semi-truck accident that happened late Sunday along Highway 18.

Preliminary details provided by officials say that the fatal collision took place a few miles north of Monahans along Highway 18.

According to currently available information, 32-year-old Eduardo Lopez-Escarcega was in a Jeep Grand Cherokee that was going southbound on the highway. Due to a series of events still under investigation, the Jeep and a northbound semi-truck crossed paths, causing the vehicles to collide head-on.

As a result of the collision, Lopez-Escarcega succumbed to fatal injuries. There did not appear to be any other injuries resulting from the crash. Authorities have yet to provide additional details about the fatal crash. Investigations are ongoing.
