14 Injured in MTA Bus Accident on 82nd Street in New York, NY

New York, NY— August 10, 2023, fourteen people reportedly had injuries due to an MTA bus accident early Thursday on 82nd Street.

Preliminary statements from MTA officials say that the collision occurred off the corner of 82nd Street and Amsterdam Avenue in the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

According to officials, the M11 bus was going along 82nd Street. It appears a construction vehicle "swerved into the lane of the bus," resulting in the bus and the construction vehicle colliding. Details suggest the bus did hit its brakes prior to the impact.

As a result of the collision, approximately fourteen people were taken to area hospitals with unspecified injuries. The bus driver was included in those taken from the scene for treatment. It appears there were no life-threatening injuries. At this time, no further information about the accident can be confirmed. Investigations continue.
