Right now, the exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. Troopers said that a semi-truck was going westbound on the interstate approaching a traffic slow-down. Somehow, the truck ended up hitting a passenger vehicle, forcing that vehicle onto the median. The semi-truck continued farther down the road where it collided with two additional semi-trucks.

As a result of the crash, the driver of the first truck ultimately died due to their injuries. Reports have not yet identified the driver. One person from the vehicle forced onto the median had injuries which were described as non-life-threatening. It's unclear at this time what additional factors authorities are looking into.
