Lindley Callowe, Michael Walters Injured in Truck Accident on I-55 in Perry County, MO

Perry County, MO — August 8, 2023, Lindley Callowe and Michael Walters were injured due to a dual truck accident at around 2:55 p.m. on Interstate 55.

Investigators said in preliminary statements that the incident took place near mile marker 133 of southbound I-55, just outside Perryville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 60-year-old Lindley E. Callowe was identified as an occupant in a Freightliner semi-truck parked on the shoulder along southbound lanes. Details claim Callowe is from "Big Shady, TX," however officials may have misidentified "Big Sandy, TX," which is north of Tyler.

While there, for reasons not clear at this time, it appears another Freightliner truck driven by 47-year-old Michael L. Walters of Lebanon, Missouri, went onto the shoulder and rear-ended the parked truck. Due to this collision, both Callowe and Walters were taken to area hospitals. Walters was said to have moderate injuries while Callowe's were described as minor. Right now, there are no further details about the crash which can be confirmed.
