Chris Sweetman Killed in Semi-Truck Accident in Harrison County, IA

Harrison County, IA — August 8, 2023, Chris Sweetman was fatally injured due to a semi-truck accident at around 9:00 a.m. along Interstate 29.

Details provided by the Iowa State Patrol suggest the fatal collision took place along the northbound lanes of the interstate.

It appears that Sweetman was in a vehicle going northbound at the time. A semi-truck was going southbound when, according to reports, it "jumped the median." In northbound lanes, the semi then crashed into Sweetman's vehicle.

As a result of the collision, Sweetman sustained injuries which proved to be fatal. The truck driver had unspecified injuries. At this time, there are no additional confirmed details. Investigations are ongoing.
