Erik L. Putman Killed in Semi-Truck Accident on Interstate 69 in Hopkins County, KY

Hopkins County, KY — August 9, 2023, Erik L. Putman was killed in a semi-truck collision on Interstate 69 near mile marker 87 in Hopkins County, KY.

Authorities indicate that on August 9, a crash occurred when, for unknown reasons, a pickup truck and a semi-truck collided on Interstate 69 sometime before 3:30 in the afternoon. According to reports, the pickup was heading northbound on the Interstate when it suddenly rear-ended the semi-truck.

Officials confirmed the pickup driver, 23-year-old Erik L. Putman, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. No other injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
