Courtney Ruttman Injured in Truck Accident in Cooke County, TX

Cooke County, TX — July 18, 2023, Courtney Ruttman sustained injuries as the result of a truck accident that happened around 10:18 a.m. along Interstate 35.

Authorities released preliminary information about the accident, which their statements say happened along northbound lanes of I-35 near mile marker 493.

According to officials, 20-year-old Courtney Ruttman was in a Kia Optima that was traveling northbound along the interstate. While traveling through a construction zone, it appears traffic was going slowly due to the construction. Ruttman's vehicle somehow crashed into the back of an 18-wheeler that was in that slowed traffic.

As a result of the collision, Ruttman sustained injuries which were described as incapacitating. There were no other reported injuries relating to the crash. At this time, the exact cause of the crash cannot be confirmed pending further investigations.
