Joseph Refugio Acosta Jr., 1 Injured in Truck Accident in Grand Prairie, TX

Grand Prairie, TX — July 17, 2023, Joseph Refugio Acosta Jr. and another person were injured after a commercial truck accident at 9:41 a.m. on Grand Lakes Way.

According to information about the accident, the incident took place in the area of the Grand Lakes Way and NE 33rd Street intersection.

Investigators said that 47-year-old Joseph Refugio Acosta Jr. and a 61-year-old woman were in a Ford F-150 that was going eastbound along Grand Lakes. Approaching a parked tractor-trailer, the vehicle somehow nearly directly into the back of the trailer.

As a result of the collision, the woman in the F-150 sustained incapacitating injuries. Acosta's condition wasn't specified. No one else was hurt. Authorities allege that the tractor-trailer did not have any visibility markers placed behind the truck, and several citations were recommended. No further information can be confirmed at this time.
