Marlene Floyd Killed in Pedestrian Accident in Marshall, TX

Marshall, TX — August 4, 2023, Marlene Floyd was fatally injured following a pedestrian accident late Friday along East Houston Street.

Investigations about the fatal incident happened at approximately 10:40 p.m. along the 2600 block of East Houston Street off the corner of Victory Drive (U.S. 80).

Authorities said in their initial statements that 88-year-old Marlene Floyd was walking at the time and was said to be going "along" East Houston Street. While doing so, in a series of events unclear, a vehicle struck Floyd.

As a result of the collision, Floyd sustained fatal injuries. No one else was injured, according to current information. Authorities did not say if they were considering charges or citations. Their statements regarding additional details are pending investigations.
