Pedestrian Injured in Alleged Hit-and-run Accident on Pace Street in Laredo, TX

Laredo, TX — August 5, 2023, a pedestrian sustained fatal injuries due to an alleged hit-and-run accident along Pace Street.

According to preliminary information about the fatal accident, it happened in the 1000 block of Pace Street just off the corner of San Bernardo Avenue.

Officials said in preliminary statements that a pedestrian was in the area of Pace Street when, for reasons not entirely clear, a vehicle struck the victim. That vehicle then reportedly left the scene of the accident. The pedestrian was taken from the scene in critical condition. Last reports indicate the victim was still in critical condition after transportation to a San Antonio hospital.

At this time, authorities say they identified the runaway driver, and there appear to be pending charges for aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury. No further information about the accident can be confirmed at this time.
