Darsheel Thakkar Killed in Alleged Hit-and-run Accident on Westheimer in Houston, TX

UPDATE (August 30, 2023): Recent information released by authorities and in various news outlets identifies the victim killed in the accident as Darsheel Thakkar. Alternate sources have also identified the victim as "Darshil". Right now, the factors surrounding the accident remain under investigation.

Houston, TX — July 31, 2023, one person was killed following an alleged hit-and-run accident at around 12:50 a.m. along Westheimer Road.

Authorities said in their initial statements that the collision happened in the area of the Westheimer Road and Loop 610, and one person is facing charges.

According to officials, a man was walking in the area and reportedly attempted to walk across or along Westheimer Road. While in the eastbound lane, it appears that a Tesla Model 3 struck the man. This ultimately resulted in the man sustaining fatal injuries.

Authorities allege the Tesla driver left the scene, but they've since released details on a suspect who was arrested and charges for failure to stop and render aid. At this time, there are no additional details to confirm about the accident.
