Eric Rye Killed in Hit-and-run Accident in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — July 30, 2023, Eric Rye was fatally injured in an apparent hit-and-run accident just after midnight along Fountain View Drive.

Houston authorities released initial details about the accident as their investigations continue. It appears the incident happened off the corner of Fountain View Drive and Inwood Drive.

Exact circumstances surrounding the accident are unclear at this time. Details suggest that 35-year-old Eric Rye was in the process of making a Door Dash delivery. Evidence points to the possibility that Rye was hit by a vehicle. A resident found Rye unresponsive outside their home and called for help.

Rye ultimately suffered fatal injuries due to the accident. Authorities have not yet released a suspect description nor have they confirmed any arrests. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities encourage members of the public to come forward if they have useful information.
