Joseph Cleddy-Craig Baize Killed in Pedestrian Accident in Gatesville, TX

Gatesville, TX — August 4, 2023, Joseph Cleddy-Craig Baize was fatally injured due to a pedestrian accident that happened late Friday along U.S. 84.

Preliminary statements provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety say that the collision occurred east of Gatesville along the eastbound lanes of U.S. Highway 84.

According to officials, 38-year-old Joseph Cleddy-Craig Baize was walking at the time when, according to statements, he was in the middle of the eastbound lane of travel. It's unclear if Baize was crossing the road or walking along it. while there, it appears that a GMC Yukon hit Baize. This ultimately resulted in Baize sustaining fatal injuries.

Details suggest that the driver of the GMC remained at the scene and does not face any charges or citations at this time. There are no further details about the accident available pending further investigations.
