Frederick Styles, Tracina Young Killed in 18-wheeler Accident in Anderson County, SC

Anderson County, SC — August 6, 2023, Frederick Styles and Tracina Young were killed following an 18-wheeler accident at around 2:00 a.m. along Interstate 85.

Preliminary information about the accident says that it took place along northbound lanes of the interstate near mile marker 22.

According to Anderson County officials as well as South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers, the incident involved 47-year-old Tracina Young and 51-year-old Frederick Styles. Details suggest they were going northbound on the interstate when, in a series of events unclear, their vehicle "hit another tractor-trailer."

As a result of the collision, both Young and Styles succumbed to fatal injuries. There were no other confirmed injuries. At this time, authorities say the 18-wheeler hit by the victims was experiencing mechanical issues. The nature of the mechanical issues and how they contributed to the crash remain under investigation.
