Man Injured in Semi-Truck Accident on Needham Street in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — May 16, 2023, a man was injured following a semi-truck accident at approximately 7:11 a.m. along Needham Street.

According to preliminary information provided by authorities, the crash happened in the area of the Needham Street and Oates Road intersection. This appears to be north of U.S. 90 and I-10 split on the northeast side of the city.

Information currently available from authorities says that a 49-year-old man was in a Kenworth truck traveling westbound along Needham Street. The semi-truck reportedly went to the left into oncoming lane where it crashed nearly head-on with a pickup pulling a trailer. The semi then went off-road and crashed into a ditch.

As a result of the crash, the Kenworth driver sustained injuries believed to be incapacitating. No one in the pickup appeared to have been hurt. At this time, no further information about the factors surrounding the accident are available. The current status of investigations is not clear.
