Monthy Matnopaseuth, Samiane Kothpratoum, Douangpee Amnatkeo, 13-Year-Old Killed in Truck Accident in Montgomery County, VA

Montgomery County, VA — May 30, 2023, Monthy Matnopaseuth, Samiane Kothpratoum, Douangpee Amnatkeo, and a 13-year-old were killed in an accident around 3:30 a.m. on I-81 in Montgomery County, VA.

Officials report the victims were in a Chevy Equinox, that was pulling a trailer, traveling north on I-81 when the vehicle somehow entered into a spin and came to a stop facing south in the northbound lanes. The Chevy was then allegedly struck head-on by a Freightliner semi-truck.

Purportedly all four occupants in the Chevy were fatally injured while the semi-truck driver was reportedly uninjured.

Investigators have not released what factors led up to the accident. However, they did report this crash happened at the same location as a 20-car pile-up that occurred on Monday, May 29th only the day before.
