William “Jake” Jacob Smith Killed in Truck Accident in Palo Pinto County, TX

Palo Pinto County, TX — May 23, 2023, William Jacob Smith were killed due to a semi-truck accident that happened around 11:24 a.m. along Highway 16.

Preliminary information about the crash indicates that the incident took place in the area of Highway 16 and Private Road 36. Authorities released details which say that 29-year-old Jake Smith was driving a Peterbilt truck northbound along the highway.

For reasons which cannot be confirmed at this time, the truck lost control, causing it to careen off the side of the road. There, the truck ultimately overturned before coming to a stop. Smith sustained injuries due to the crash which ultimately proved to be fatal. Reports at this time do not show anyone else being involved in the crash.

Investigations into factors surrounding the crash are ongoing at this time. Additional details cannot be confirmed pending further findings from authorities.
