Pedestrian Killed in Car Accident on Ben White in Austin, TX

Austin, TX — May 26, 2023, one person was fatally injured as the result of a pedestrian versus car accident at around 1:00 a.m. along Ben White Boulevard.

Authorities reported initially that the fatal incident happened along the eastbound lanes of W. Ben White in the area of the intersection with the service road and Bannister Lane.

Right now, exact circumstances remain unclear. Authorities currently say only that a person was in the road and crossed paths with a vehicle while crossing the service road. As a result, that vehicle hit the victim. This caused the pedestrian to suffer injuries which ultimately proved to be fatal. No other injuries were reported.

Details about the driver involved are not clear at this time. Police said only that the driver stayed at the scene. There are no reported charges or citations at this time. Factors surrounding the fatal incident are still under investigation.
