Driver Injured in Dump Truck, 18-wheeler Accident on I-44 in Joplin, MO

Joplin, MO — May 25, 2023, a driver sustained injuries following a dump truck versus 18-wheeler accident at around 2:40 p.m. along I-44.

Authorities with the Joplin Police Department were called out to the area of westbound I-44 and Rangeline Road.

Their statements said that the crash involved a dump truck and an 18-wheeler. For reasons which remain unclear at this time, it appears the dump truck crashed into the back portion of the tractor-trailer. This somehow then resulted in the dump truck driver being ejected from the truck.

Details show that the dump truck driver was taken from the scene while responsive but with unspecified injuries. There were no other reported injuries. Circumtances leading up to the crash are still under investigation at this time.
