Michael L. Heitkotter Killed in Truck Accident in McPherson County, KS

McPherson County, KS — May 24, 2023, Michael Heitkotter was killed following a semi-truck accident at around 2:00 p.m. along 14th Avenue.

Investigators said that the crash happened in the area of the 14th Avenue and Comanche Road intersection.

It appears that 37-year-old Michael Heitkotter was on a motorcycle that was going southbound along 14th Avenue. Statements from police officials indicate that a semi-trailer was going westbound when it apparently failed to yield to Heitkotter's approaching motorcycle. As a result of this, the motorcycle and the truck collided with one another.

Heitkotter sustained injuries which ultimately proved to be fatal. Right now, there is no further information regarding other possible injuries nor whether or not authorities plan to file charges or citations. The incident remains under investigations.
