Dexter Simpson Injured in Car Accident off Old Spanish Trail in Houston, TX

Houston, TX — February 16, 2023, Dexter Simpson was injured following a car accident at around 1:30 p.m. along Old Spanish Trailer.

Investigators said that the crash took place on property off the corner of the Old Spanish Trail (U.S. 90 Alt) and La Salette Street intersection, just off Scott Street.

In preliminary details released by authorities, information suggests that 66-year-old Dexter Simpson was in a Chevy Colorado that was on property off the side of the road. Due to a series of events not made clear, another vehicle apparently failed to control speed and crashed into the back of Simpson's vehicle. Details about that vehicle and the driver weren't made clear, and it's unclear whether or not they stayed at the scene.

Simpson was taken from the scene with injuries described by authorities as seeming incapacitating. No others were reportedly hurt in the accident. Right now, factors leading up to the crash cannot be confirmed pending more thorough investigations.
