One Injured in Car Accident on East Loop 289 in Lubbock, TX

Lubbock, TX — May 20, 2023, at least one person sustained injuries as the result of a car accident at around 5:15 a.m. along East Loop 289.

Investigators with the Lubbock Police Department indicated that the incident occurred in the area of the East Loop 289 and East 50th Street intersection.

According to preliminary statements from authorities, the crash involved at least one vehicle, but the nature of the crash or what may have caused it remain unclear at this time. Due to the car accident, at least one person was injured and taken to University Medical Center.

It's unclear if anyone else had injuries as a result of the crash. Details such as speeds, road conditions, alcohol, fatigue, medical conditions, and mechanical issues have not been confirmed or ruled out. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
