Luz Arzate Injured in Alleged Drunk Driving Accident on U.S. Hwy 60 in Deaf Smith County, TX

Deaf Smith County, TX — May 6, 2023, Luz Arzate was injured by an allegedly drunk driver around 9:30 p.m. on U.S. Hwy 60 in Deaf Smith County.

Sources report a Ford F-150 was southbound on C.R. H while Ms. Arzate was westbound on U.S. Hwy. 60 in a Chevy Trailblazer. The F-150 allegedly failed to yield the right of way and entered Mr. Arzate's path in an attempt to cross the highway.

The nose of the Trailblazer reportedly struck the rear, passenger side of the F-150. The collision allegedly sent the F-150 into a counter-clockwise spin and sent the Trailblazer onto the inside shoulder of the highway.

Luz Arzate reportedly suffered serious injuries, and the F-150 driver purportedly suffered minor injuries.

Police recommended charging the F-150 driver with Intoxication Assault.
