Pedestrian Injured in Alleged Hit-and-run Accident on 51st Street in Lubbock, TX

Lubbock, TX — May 22, 2023, a pedestrian was injured as the result of an alleged hit-and-run accident at around 1:00 a.m. along 51st Street.

Preliminary information about the accident indicated that the incident happened in the area of 51st Street and Aberdeen Avenue intersection. Right now, the exact cause of the accident remains unclear.

Authorities with the Lubbock Police Department reported that a vehicle struck a pedestrian, leaving that pedestrian with injuries which were described as serious. The driver apparently left the scene, but authorities say the suspect driver returned to the scene. They arrested that driver, who now faces a charge for failure to stop and render aid. At this time, there is no further information about the accident that can be confirmed pending investigations.
