Gabriel Christopher Lilja Killed in Truck Accident on Hwy. 52 in Coates, MN

Coates, MN — May 13, 2023, Gabriel Christopher Lilja was killed in a collision with a tractor-trailer around 11:46 a.m. on Hwy. 52 in Coates.

Sources report the victim's passenger car was northbound in an active construction zone while a dump truck was southbound when the two vehicles collided head-on. The crash reportedly sent debris flying into a second vehicle that was driving behind the dump truck. The collision may have caused the victim's car to rollover, but this is unconfirmed.

Officials report Mr. Lilja was fatally injured, the dump truck driver was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the other passenger car driver was uninjured.

Authorities have not released how the crash occurred
