Gary Cox Injured in Semi-Truck Accident in Harris County, TX

Harris County, TX — May 9, 2023, Gary Cox was injured as the result of a commercial truck accident at around 10:30 a.m. on the Northwest Freeway.

Preliminary information provided by authorities indicated that the accident happened in the area of the U.S. Highway 290 and Becker Road intersection.

According to officials, 75-year-old Gary Cox was in a Mitsubishi Lancer traveling eastbound along the freeway. For reasons which are not officially confirmed, the Mitsubishi lost control, causing it to swerve to the right across several traffic lanes. Doing so, the car and a semi-trailer in the middle-right lane collided.

Cox sustained injuries in the crash which authorities described as incapacitating. Details currently do not identify anyone else being injuries. It's also unclear if any unusual factors received ample attention from authorities, as the cause of the crash cannot be confirmed at this time. Investigations may still be ongoing.
