Kyle Stephenson, Odell Giggs Killed in Car Accident in Jones County, TX

Jones County, TX — May 18, 2023, Kyle Stephenson and Odell Giggs were killed as the result of a car accident at around 4:00 a.m. along U.S. Highway 277.

Preliminary information about the crash was released by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Their statements said that they were called sometime between 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. along the highway in the area of the 312 mile marker.

According to officials, 64-year-old Kyle Stephenson was in a vehicle going northbound along the highway, but it appears that vehicle was on the southbound side of the highway, police say. Odell Giggs and an unidentified passenger were said to be going southbound. The two vehicles then collided head-on with each other.

As a result of the collision, Giggs and Stephenson both sustained fatal injuries. The unnamed passenger in Giggs's vehicle was said to have serious injuries. No further information about the crash can be confirmed at this time. Investigations are ongoing.
