Fredy Muñoz, Elia Aguilar, One Injured in Alleged Drunk Driving Accident on Beaumont Hwy. in Harris County, TX

Harris County, TX — April 29, 2023, Fredy Muñoz, Elia Aguilar, and another person were injured by an alleged drunk driver around 9:10 p.m. on Beaumont Hwy. in Harris County.

According to officials, Mr. Muñoz and Ms. Aguilar were in a Ford F-150, in a designated left turn lane attempting to turn from Sam Houston onto Beaumont Hwy., with a BMW 3 Series sitting in the lane to the F-150's right. As both vehicles were passing through the intersection, an eastbound GMC Sierra 1500 allegedly ran a red light, struck the driver's side and nose of the F-150, and then collided with the BMW.

Authorities report Fredy Muñoz and Elia Aguilar suffered serious injuries, the BMW driver suffered minor injuries, and the GMC driver suffered minor injuries.

The GMC driver, Mr. Muñoz, and Ms. Aguilar were all purportedly taken to a hospital.

Police recommended charging the GMC driver with Driving While Intoxicated.
