Francis Montagne Killed in Truck Accident in Brown County, TX

Brown County, TX — May 19, 2023, Francis Montagne was fatally injured due to a commercial truck accident at around 3:45 a.m. along F.M. 2126.

According to information provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash took place just outside of Brownwood.

It appears that Early local 79-year-old Francis Montagne was in a vehicle traveling southbound along Farm-to-Market 2126. While rounding a curve, it appears the vehicle driven by Montagne and a northbound commercial truck crashed head-on.

Due to this collision, Montagne sustained fatal injuries. Right now, no other injuries have been confirmed. Authorities do not report suspected factors leading up to the crash at this time. Roadway conditions have not been made clear, and information regarding vehicle speeds and conditions also are unclear. Additional details are pending further investigations from authorities.
